This poem reminds me of my adolescence. In childhood's early years I felt lonely in gradeschool, until I had some friends. Then in adolescence I went through this intense lonely spell again and it seemed bottomless. I did seek solitude and my own company too often- we had a cellar; nobody bothers you in the cellar, do they? (even if you need a little bothering in that dank hole) . I think I put myself in solitary confinement sometimes. This poem sums it up perfectly.
