This poem reminds me of my adolescence. In childhood's early years I felt
lonely in gradeschool, until I had some friends. Then in adolescence I went
through this intense lonely spell again and it seemed bottomless. I did seek
solitude and my own company too often- we had a cellar; nobody bothers you
in the cellar, do they? (even if you need a little bothering in that dank hole) .
I think I put myself in solitary confinement sometimes. This poem sums it up
perfectly.
