Lonely Poem by William F Glennon

Lonely

The intimacy has departed.
Passion is only a memory.
Love is my only link.
The unbreakable connection.

What's between my heart and soul
is a dark hole.

My loneliness digs this hole through my heart.
You filled this hole with emptiness from the start.

It feels like I'm digging my own grave
with a shovel you gave me. With all
my faults, you didn't understand or forgave me.

Now my eyes are wide open. I made it through
another day somehow.
