Lonely In Love With You Poem by Richard Phipps

Lonely In Love With You

Hands can't quite cope.
Heart filled with hope.
Mind filled with regret.
Another day, another misstep.
Lonely in love with you.

I wanna watch you sleep.
I wanna kiss you awake.
Hold your hand when it's cold,
or maybe has the shakes.
Wrap these arms around you,
and never let go.
Be there for you forever and ever,
and tell you true,
it's not just show.
Lonely in love with you.

Yet here I stand in the cold,
outside your place.
Looking up in the dark,
at the window where you rest.
Outside - cold, all alone,
heart aching at best.
Lonely in love with you.

I hope you think of me.
I know I think of you.
You better tell me to go,
'cause if you don't,
with you I'll always stay -
Lonely in love with you.

Now you're standing in that window,
looking down at me.
Thoughts shootin' thru the shadows,
plain as I can see.
Darkness and coldness,
whipping straight outta me.
Lonely in love with you.

You whisper something softly,
I just can't quite hear.
Motion for me to move closer,
so we can be near.
Wrap your arms around me,
and take me to that place.
Lonely in love with you.
