Lonely Me (2) Poem by Rik Bertrand

Lonely Me (2)

I am alone in life
It was meant to be,
There is nothing to be sorry for
I am lonely me.

Destined to travel
All the lands on the earth,
Destined to be alone
I have known it since birth.

I cry not for myself
I have become immune to love,
It’s a curse bestowed me
From the angels above.

The Angels are blessed ones
I don’t hate them for this,
They are angels of god
And I am only the mist.

I am alone in this life
Just me and myself,
All the love and the happiness
Just sits on a shelf.

I cry in the darkness
Where no one can see,
I cry for forgiveness
I cry for lonely me.

God gave me a mission
And I failed in his plan,
Now I walk the lonely trail
Across all the lands.

A mission of happiness
Not such a hard task,
To make mankind happy
Is all that he asked.

I have failed him
Although I did try,
And now I sit here lonely
And alone I do cry.

REB (Jan 2012) Sorry Lord I am trying, I won’t give up
