Long Wave Loving Poem by Olorunfemi Peters

Long Wave Loving

On what frequency do you love?
Can it be measured in joules or heartbeats?
Are you in it for keeps or until an option rears?
Do you want to bolt when there is strife?
How easily can her ring be wrenched from your finger?
Do you embrace criticism or retaliate at whim?
Is your woman worth fighting for?
Is your love for her in your heart and head?
Do you panic at the thought of losing her?
What can you endure?
What have you forfeited?
What scars has this love left in you?
How much tears have burnt your eyes?
Have you had to catch a breath for loves sake?
Have you risked for this cause?
Has reason eluded you in this quest?
Aren’t you gambling?
Can’t a wetback go dry?
Can she always light your fire?
Will the waters ever run dry?
