Longing Poem by karin collins

Longing

See my heart,
It’s torn in two,
Since you have gone away.

You must have felt,
There was more for you,
And I was in your way.

Why did you leave?
I’ll never know,
How can I understand?

I am longing to,
Feel your touch again,
And gently hold your hand.

I miss you so,
Please turn around,
See what you’ve left behind.

I’ll still be here,
Should you return,
If you should change your mind.

But I believe,
You’ve learned to fly,
Now you’re on your way.

So my heart will stay,
Where it belongs,
Hoping you’ll come back someday.
