Longing For The Stars In Your Eyes. Poem by Brett White

Longing For The Stars In Your Eyes.

Rating: 3.0

Left alone in Nature, like as a child,
Wonderful and self-contained, you and the Wild, -

As Stars kiss the Angels' feet and your head,
Spell-bound by Summer's Sounds, not knowing Dread:

The Dread of Living Life, without the One,
Who makes you feel complete, a grateful sum,

And when subtracted, your absence, it kills
My broken heart, which only prayer heals.

Day after Day, your smile's forever lit,
My Eastern Flame, to whom I shall submit,

As if I were Venus, bowing to Mars,
In the Light of the Moon as She's bathed in Stars.

You're a faint trace of the past, Light-years removed,
From my Arms, where you are forever soothed.

Light Breaks through, memories of me and you,
Held in the Stars, Soulmates, by Heaven's Glue.

Holding us Together, never to scatter,
Like Nature's tears, as they pitter-patter.

Forever I shall hold you, Rain or Shine,
Through the Depths of Hell, or the Sublime,

Calling softly, against Time, out your name.
Assailing Fate, as if this were a game,

Whose stakes, ever higher, only my Heart's Desire:
To see you again, in shade or through Fire,

To hold you again, just for a moment,
Eternally Grateful, each second we've spent-

Together or in Truth, often apart,
Close you'll always be, closest to my Heart.

And if 'I love you', to me, I never do hear,
Then I shall say it to Silence, year after year,

And remain faithful, always, only to thee:
My way of showing you love for Infinity,

To the one whose Laughter makes me feel light,
Beholden, in my eyes, the Loveliest Sight:

From the day I met you, before, and beyond
All compare, feelings, always, all too fond.

And keep comfort with this most solemn thought,
For noone, or price ever, could you be bought.

And wrought with Pain, oftentimes I have been,
Forgiveness I shan't ask for, if it is a Sin,

To Love with the force of Summer's First Rays,
Or until the End of all Mankind's days.

Because a fool I'd be if I never said,
'I loved you in Life, and left nothing unsaid.'
