Look In The Mirror… Poem by R.H. Peppers

Look In The Mirror…

Gaze upon your reflection…
And tell me darling who is it that you see?

Is she the loving daughter of a father
That you have led yourself to believe?

The same daughter of a mother
That may or may not call you her sweet angel? ..

Be you sweet as cotton candy
Or a dye in the wool rebel? ..

Are you the dream chaser you think you know
With a belly filled with ambition? ..

Is it not amazing the many masks you wear
Be it freshly bathed.. clean faced
Or painted with colorful gimmicks?

Are you truly the same you that others have told you you are? ..

Are you convinced that you are alien to this world
Having to be made by a certain god? ..

…One said close but in the pit of your heart feels as distant as a glimmering star? ..

HAHAHAHAHA! ... why so somber now?

Smile Child! ..

Oh! .. did my last few questions go a little too far?

…Riddle me this sweetheart…

Why is it when I see you without your mask..

There stands the clear presence of God? ..

where one can see anger another may see the absence of genuine cheer.. though this pieces is certainly mocking in it's tone.. the Jester holds no anger.. he is but an observer of the game that knows oh too well Who is behind each and every Mask.. thanks for the read my friend Ed Nigma..8^/ Red
