Looking At Relationships Poem by Lone Dog

Looking At Relationships

I've learned relationships don't last.
They're plagued with brevity
Because the whole affair is based
On insincerity.

I've seen our family greet close friends
With hugs and joyful tears,
But those friends are only memories
In one or two more years.

And even vows of marriage are
Quite often insincere,
For many of the newly weds
Don't even last a year.

Relationships don't last, I've learned.
They're short-lived, false and fake.
They're fragile, fleeting, insincere
And a risk to undertake.

It's better to walk alone in life
Than walk with a 'friendship lie',
So I'll walk the rest of the way myself,
Alone, until I die.
