Today
I set off
With a list in hand
Of used bookstores
In Toronto
Hoping to find
A book of poetry
By Karl Shapiro
I went west on Bloor
Checked out 3 stores
With no luck
Then I went south
To College
To check out
A couple more stores
Still no luck
I ended on Spadina
With no luck there
All the owners
Claimed to know
Who Karl Shapiro was
For that at least
I was grateful.
