Looking To The Sky Poem by Chris Pontiac

Looking To The Sky

Maybe its fate, a love, or a date
She keeps her eyes to the sky knowing it’s never too late.
A million miles away at any rate
But she doesn’t mind if he’s a little bit late.
She looks up to the stars for answers
They sparkle and glisten such elegant dancers
Darting through the sky one catches her eye
She has a good feeling but doesn’t know why
A breeze lifts her as if she could fly
But memories don’t leave, refusing to die

If only she realized what he would give to hold her
I’m sorry for everything as this night grows colder
The weight of this life sits square upon his shoulder
“You’re like every other boy”
His world dropped like a boulder
Just like that the floor was pulled out from under
The sky opens up with lightning and thunder
Those pretty stars are gone and the sky grows cloudy
No miracle tonight as if my own fate doubts me.

Hmm...I love the flow of your work. The rhymes well thought out, simply beautiful. The message of rejection and hope before a fall. I truly understand this all. Great job!
