Loose Cannon Poem by Rick De La Pena

Loose Cannon

Rating: 4.0

Shooting blind on demand
A centurion and a cannon stand
Loose cannon fires it's salvo.
Protection only for her fallow
Aiming for quick penetration into her fears
Numb your discomforts as love steers.

Lose cannon befalls
Shots fired tearing down her walls
A centurion stands only for her guard
He sees her wall that has been scarred
Standing down to diminish her scare
A Promise of chivalry is why he is there.
Numb your fear
Let love steer
Loose cannon shoots Cupids Spear!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
In my error of life and love I once was called a loose cannon. Hence this poem was written as to my failed attempt. (photo courtesy Fine Art America)
