Losing A Child Poem by Jeremy Isabell

Losing A Child

Rating: 4.0

Silent cries and broken hearts

A newborn baby has been sent to Gods arms

Why does this happen what can we do

A helpless feeling begins to sink through

One loses faith one loses life

this bitter situation has created much strife

Hope eventually arises pregnancy comes near

A sickening feeling a mothers greatest fear

Again the pain comes and it happens again

Why God Why, I thought you where my friend

She visits the grave each and everyday

wishing that this horrible pain would wash right away

The lord is our sheperd and soon she learns

That the day will soon come and they all will be one

Always in her heart a new day begins

Asking for forgivness and the washing away of sins.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A few weeks short of a year ago my little sister gave birth to her stillborn son one day prior to her due date. Everythign was fine and on her last checkup the heartbeat was not heard. Recently she again was pregnant but this time unfortunantly had a misscarraige. I was listening to some music and just started to think about her and started typing my thoughts and came up with this. This is dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one especially a child.
