Loss Poem by Aparna Chatterjee

Loss

So, what do you
Expect?
Now that he's died
I write another
Poetry on him
As I've done
On all others
Like him…

Do you think
Another poetry
Would suffice
In expressing
The grief
I've been
Feeling…
In grieving him?

Let it be silent
Let it be sombre
Let it be as intense
As intensity can be

Yes, I'm mourning
His loss, for he has
Always been
My all time favourite,
And so I'm at a loss
How to express….
My sense of loss!

Maybe, you've
Guessed it
By now…
As you may have
Heard it
By now…
It's all over there
In the news…
People thronging in queues
To pay their last respects…
To the evergreen, enchanting
Ubiquitous enigma - the one and only
'King of Hearts' - Rajesh Khanna

(written yesterday evening after my husband broke the news to me that ‘Kaka' Ji is no more....I loved him as much as I loved Kishore)
