Lost... - Poem by ARSHAJ GAIKWAD

THESE ROADS GO ON FOREVER,
HAVE BAKED STONES & GRAVEL TONNES.
THEN WHY DO THEY REFRAIN TO SHOW,
RIGHT DIRECTIONS, AT LEAST ONCE.
SO HERE I STEP, ONCE HERE ONCE THERE,
THOUGH STEP AFTER STEP I SEE,
NEITHER A FORK NOR AN INTERSECTION,
AN ENDLESS ROAD INDEED!

THOUGH YEARS FOR NOW I’VE WALKED,
MORE DIFFICULT WAYS THAN THESE,
BUT IN THIS FROST, I THINK I’M LOST,
THERE ARE NEITHER BIRDS NOR HONEYBEES.
I STEP CAUTIOUSLY OVER THESE CRACKING GROUNDS,
CAREFUL, I LEAVE NO STEPS,
FOR I HATE TO FOOL SOME STRIDER HERE,
WHERE NOW I STAND & STARE!

STILL COURAGE REMAINS MY STRONGEST TOOL,
AN ARMOUR OF SMILES I WEAR,
I TRUST MY FEET & THE WIND AROUND
SHALL TAKE ME SOMEWHERE.
SO IN TIMES WHEN PATH JUST SPLITS,
PLEASE JUST DON’T STAND & STARE.
USE YOUR WITS & LEARN TO TRUST,
YOUR INSTINCTS, AND YOU’LL BE THERE!

Good poem, Arshaj Gaikwad. I can relate to the feeling of being lost in confusion. Obviously, sometimes one should learn to trust and listen to his/ her instincts, and also resort to action. (Report)Reply
