Lost! Poem by Sara Tober

Lost!

In a world all alone,
You are lost and cold.
You are hungry and wet,
All you want is a home.
What you want,
You can’t have.
You miss everything,
Your home, your bed, your parents,
Even your parents.
Everything you’d thought you’d never need,
Is actually what you crave to have in a time like this.
You think, ‘what have I done? ’
‘I’ve lost everything.’
You wander around,
Nowhere to go,
You decide something.
“Death is peaceful, no one will care, ”
You say allowed.
So you wander around some more,
Looking for a way out.
Then it dawns on you,
People care,
They care a lot.
You turn around,
And run back home.
But while running,
You bump into someone.
You say you’re very sorry,
The man just smiles and says,
“You’re a cutie.”
He then grabs you and takes you to his place.
You scream at him to please stop!
He doesn’t listen,
Like most stalkers don’t.
You’re dragged somewhere,
And then thrown on the cold hard ground.
He gets on top of you and does his thing,
Minutes later he is done.
And then in order to keep you quiet,
He makes a plan.
The next day you’re dead.
You are found by the four people you don’t want to be found by,
You’re younger sister and brother, who scream.
And then your parents arrive,
Only to say “why? ”
You are dead,
You are lost.
