Lost Book Poem by prabhakar bhatlekar

Lost Book

She held a book
in front of me
'Read...somewhere
you'll find us'
I took it and she went
where horizon dissolved
in the mist.
I opened the book and
saw a book-mark with her
photo stuck on it.
'Read....'
Story was captivating,
held me with the characters,
happenings, love, dreams
and despair.
At some bend our shadows
lingered..only for us!
Images floated hallucinating
the concious.
Days rolled, trees changed
by seasons, but the book
remained unfinished- because
it was lost. How, when-all
hallo questions.
Story stopped where the
book-mark was placed with
some page, from where
the further story disappeared
along with the book-mark.
