Lost Faith Poem by Ema Nekaf

Lost Faith

The following poem was a found poetry assignment for my English II Acc class. The phrases were taken from the book 'Night' by Elie Wiesel-

I remember the fire
The flames devoured her.
She had the face of a sad angel.
Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my
God and my sould and my dreams to
Ashes.

Silence.
The Almighty, the eternal and terrible Master of the universe chose to be
Silent.
I felt anger rise within me.
Why should I sanctify His name?
What was there to thank Him for?
Famous cruelty?
Her extinguished eyes?
No.
Why do you pray?
