A door may creak, a smile may bloom,
Invited in, out of the gloom.
But hollow eyes, a distant gaze,
Can leave you lost in a lonely maze.
They nod hello, they ask your name,
But hearts stay shut, a different game.
Your words may fall, unheard, unseen,
As if you're just a passing scene.
It's not your fault, this heavy sting,
Your feelings true, are real
felt things.
You sure deserve a place
to be,
Where you are seen, and set quite free.
So learn to feel, to trust your gut,
When kindness feels like a closed-up hut.
A gentle 'no, ' a step aside,
Is strength within, with naught to hide.
Don't pour your all, where love's not sown,
Protect your peace, your very own.
For mental health, a precious art,
No one should break, or tear apart.
