The forest of smoke and fire
Its everywhere
I can’t see
I can’t breathe
The devastation around me
I can hear people screaming
I can remember all the terrified faces
Looking up at me
Asking for help
Which I could never give
Why did they turn to me
When I am like everybody else
I didn’t ask for this
I didn’t ask to survive
I didn’t ask to be special
I don’t deserve this
This burning destruction
Of what used to be my life
Will I ever get back to normality, reality?
Or is this my life
I’ve got to get my life back on track
I wander through the flames and smoke
Like a lost spirit looking for release
Will I find it? I’ll have to look, hope seems to be in hiding
