Lost It All Poem by michael mpofu

Lost It All

Feel the pain, feel the pleasure
Tell me how it feels
Tell me how it hurts, for I hear you grieve
Tell me how it pains, for I hear you cry
Tell me so I can cry with you
Let me know of the pleasure you feel
For I see you smile
Tell me so I can smile with you
Let us share the feeling
I know you feel it for me
For you know, you really know
I have lost that sense

See the birds of the sky
See the mountains and valleys
See the rivers and the seas
Oh, see this world for me
And tell me what color the sky is
Let me know how beautiful things are
I really want to know
See it and keep me informed
You have become my eyes
And you know, you really know
I have lost that sense

Smell the world for me
Smell this life for us
Dictate the sweet aroma of life
And we will live happily there
And try and smell the danger ahead of us
Smell the blood
And I will know there is war
Smell the tears
And I will know there is sorrow
Smell the good things ahead
And let us follow the golden route
Sniff, sniff, sniff for me…
For you know, you really know
That I have lost that sense

Touch this place
Give it a warm embrace
Feel the smoothness of it
Feel how hot or cold it is
And you will make it warm
Touch their hearts, comfort them
Bless everything you touch
And give glory were it belongs
Touch it for me
For you know, you really know
That I have lost that sense too

Oh, hear them all
Hear them praise, hear them mock
Hear them cry, hear them laugh
Pretend as if you heard nothing
You will know how they are feeling
You will know what they thinking
And let us join or avoid them
Do this for me
For you have become my ears
And you know, you really know
That sense I lost again
