Lost Love Poem by Rakesh Okuku

Lost Love

Rating: 5.0

Sitting on this dry grass
under the scorching sun
I think about us
I think of when we were one
all the fun we had,
are now stories told and heard.

In my loneliness, i miss your company
In the coldest nights, i seek your warmth
In the silent silence, i hear you honey.
You were the love i came to loath
now you are the memory
of what i couldn't keep with me.

In the hot sun rays
you were my cool shelter
In the wet rainy days
you were my dry umbrella
I'm vulnerable without you
and there's naught i can do.

I loved you my love
and I'd love you again
because you are all I had and have
but I've waited in vain.
Shall I move on or shall I not?
Will you be back or will you not?

Answer me now darling
to have you back
I'm still yearning
but patience i lack.
The sands of time have rolled by
yet you haven't said hi
