Her silky hair was blowing wild
From a gentle summer breeze
She was always here with me
Love came to us with ease

But as the years passed us by
Her feelings began to change
I could tell something was wrong
As she started acting strange

What happened to the days?
That were filled with happiness
I wonder where they've gone
To leave me with this emptiness

I asked her, what was wrong
She looked me in the eye
Before she could speak
She just began to cry

She said, I no longer love you
My love for you has died
She tried so hard to hide it
But it couldn't be denied

What happened to the days?
That were filled with happiness
I wonder where they've gone
To leave me with this emptiness

All our years together
Blown away like a summer sand
As I listened to her explain
I still didn't understand

I asked, is there another man
Her reply to me was no
She said the love I once felt
I no longer feel to show
What happened to the days?

So she packed up all her things
So quickly she was gone
I knew that I would be alone
But I knew that I had to move on

Although it wasn't easy
I let her walk away
I was still in love with her
But I had no words to say

So here I am wondering
What happened to the days?
When love was alive and well
In so many different ways

Some people search a lifetime
Looking for that special one
I thought that I had found her
I thought my searching days were done

Some days I feel quite bitter
On others I just feel cold
And is my lack of energy
A sign of getting old

Will I look for another love?
To help me light my way
Maybe I'll just be alone
For now and every day
