Lost Love Too Poem by Jason Summers

Lost Love Too

Jealousy hits like a brick up side the head.
The pain inside hurts, you'd rather be dead.
But you go on holding it in hoping it'll get better
And a half-smile appears with the words 'I love you' said later.
To prove that love is only a feeling of happiness
When the truth is just being together, it is much less.
'Let the past go, ' are words to get on with my life
When it's only one person struggling to fight.
The past is all you hold onto
And it's hard to tell what feelings are true.
We treat each other well with a few mistakes
And every couple has them without keeping them awake.

What I ask is love for who I am and what I present you with.
Because you're the only one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
