Lost Souls Poem by jeannetta harris

Lost Souls

While slumbering in your confined space
Do you think of your garden
How it was once beautiful
Lined with colorful flowers
Now over grown with weeds
Your sidewalks now littered with cracks
When all are gone and just memories
Who…will tend your garden
Is it the children who run between the rows
Will you depend on the kindness of strangers
Who…will water your garden
Will it be by the kind hands of a stranger visiting another
Or must you wait till angels weep for you
Forgotten with the passing of time
Yet…you still remember
All the love you gave to family and friends
Hoping that they would tend your garden
Only to slip away with the hands of time
To lay in ruins…Forgotten
