My Private Hell Poem by jeannetta harris

My Private Hell

Drawing myself tightly within my shell
Locking out the world
Trapped with only my thoughts
The noise within is deafening
No peace only screaming
The pain nauseates,
Bile, Dances on my tongue

Pulse racing, pounding in my head
Vision clouded by tears
Sanity treading, trying to stay afloat
My thoughts weighing me down
Pain pulling me under
Exhausted, I no longer want to fight
Sinking I drift into darkness
