Lost & Unclaimed Poem by Kurt Philip Behm

Lost & Unclaimed

Standing in
baggage-claim,
watching belongings
go round again
waiting for something
that will never come,
an army of strangers
grab their bags and run
leaving me distant
adrift and alone,
as the carousel stops
—my location unknown

(Shangri-La Airport: January,2004)
