Lotus Flower Blooms While Seeing The Sun!
Since the face which blooms
while seeing the sun-like bright face
of her husband wilt and shrink by seeing
the moon-like face of the stranger,
does the face of the chaste wives
resemble the lotus flower?

மனைவியின் முகத்தாமரை கணவன் முகம் எதிருற மலரும்!
கதிரவ னனையதங் கணவ ரேர்முகம்
எதிருற மலருமற் றேதி லார்முக
மதியநோக் கிடவிதழ் வாடிக் கூம்புமால்
சதியர்வாண் முகமெனுஞ் சலசப் பூவரோ.17
- மாயூரம் வேதநாயகம் பிள்ளை பாடல்
