____Love Poem by William McGehee

____Love

New love enflames with the spirit's rejoicing
Just like the sparrow at breaking of day
What if the songbirds can't wait until morning?
When is the right time for lovers to pray?

True love can bear us through trials of mourning,
Lead us to solace when feeling dismay,
How can my whispers sound sweet when she's crying?
What are the right words for lovers to say?

Deep love abides with the heart's rhythm beating,
And miles that test it cannot hold their sway,
Where are her last thoughts before she stars dreaming?
How can she love me from so far away?

Pure love again sees the tears of departing,
Pure love cries out, just wanting to stay,
Why does it hurt when time comes for leaving?
‘cause she is the hope that I find every day
