Love Poem by Francis Duggan

Love

Though love can have it's many disappointments it is indeed such a beautiful thing
And of love the poets write of in their poetry and of love so many songsters one hear sing
Without love human society could not function there are so many forms of love in life
The love that parents display for their children the love that is the bond of man and wife.

The love some people display for their Country the love and loyalty some show to their friends
The thing called love it seems to have no borders the boundaries of love are boundaries without end
So many forms of love too many to name on true love happiness does seem to thrive
Without love we could not hope for a future for without love life on Earth could not survive.

Though love can have it's many disappointments for love in life there is no substitute
Without love there would never be compassion and a World without love would be a World without ruth,
Without love there would be mistrust and hatred and serious crime would be seen as okay
And love it seems for to stay young forever it never does seem to grow old and gray.

We need love in our life it is essential without it life would be far worse than hell
For love is born out of warm feelings it is a thing we cannot buy or sell
And if everybody had love glowing within them of violence we would not need to live in fear
And in a World of so much war and terror each story of love is so good to hear.
