Love At First Sight Poem by Francis Duggan

Love At First Sight

With us she said through her sobs it was love at first sight
But love it did not last long and things did not turn out right
Love lasted for a few weeks till one night as we lay on my bed
He told me confidentially he was already wed,
It was as if my whole world it had fallen in i could scarce believe my ears
The shock it was too much for me i burst forth into tears
I told him for to leave my life and home he packed his things and left
Of any hope of love and happiness my life now seems bereft
He brought great love and happiness for a few weeks to my life
Till he told me i was his disposable for to two time on his wife
For falling in love with a married man in heartache i must pay
To cheat on his wife he did use me in a deceitful way
And love at first sight for me it only did leave to love's ache
For like some say in love and life there is a lot at stake.
