Love Between The Rain And The Wind.. Poem by Uwakwe Uchechkwu

Love Between The Rain And The Wind..

'Heard of the little romance between the neighbours nextdoor?
Mr rain and miss wind?

The rain has been in love with the wind for a long time
My window has been their meeting place
And my window suffers it

The rain falls hard from his seat
each time he yearns for her
Till he smashes his face on the tough floor,
Waking up the slumber wind; his love from her bed
I've known this to be his sign for her

Tonight he wakes her up to a love feast
Beside a camp fire called moon,
in a camp called night
And she sings to him a love song
In a husky voice, as she always does

Pushing hard as they dance past my door
He confesses his love
And no matter how far i try to wander
Away on sleep's cunning back
I wake up to the sound of their noise.....
