love elated condescends
to overlook each flaw.
hearts enchanted
grant concessions never else allowed.
comes a day, when passions fade
and veils must be removed.
and then the quintessential part of love,
their hearts must prove.
just as a fire consumes itself
til nothing else remain;
love bereft of residue
will perish in the flames.
