Love Eternal Poem by Maggie Paige

Love Eternal

Love springs Eternal is what they always say. I never believed it until I found him.

He made me burn

He made me scream in pain

He is the reason that I lost my family

Why I was driven out of my home

And yet I can’t hate him

Even now, while we lie dying in the burning sands

I can only feel Love

I can only feel peace

I can only feel relief that our trials are finally over

Now we will be together forever

Forever free to fly in the sky

I am not scared anymore

Before him I would have been, I would have been terrified

He destroyed the old me, and like a Phoenix I rose in flame from the ashes

While we lie here in the sands I look into the eyes of my love and I know that the poets were right

They were right about everything

How Love burns

How Love Heals

And most of all

How the well of Love Springs Eternal

Love never runs dry, and as I feel death coming to me

I am not afraid

I am protected by Love

And in Love I will trust
