Love (For Amina Tahir) Poem by Tahir Mallam Muhammad

The intrigues which often dog love relationship between young men and women inspired this poem.My experience with my girlfriend, who subsequently became my wife- we have been married now for close to two decades-opened my eyes to the vulnerability of love to the scheming of rivals and tale bearers who go abroad broadcasting news which emerged from the figments of their imagination.I wrote this poem when my love, against all odds, survived the barbs of a series of such scheming and machination.
