Love From Afar Poem by Laurel Lujan

Love From Afar

Admiring some special person
From beginning to end.
Wishing they were yours
Yet they belong to another.

Your feelings worsen
The wounds are harder to mend.
Again, hoping you were the one to
Whisper in their ear
“Look at the stars”
Sadly, you’re not the one with the
Message to send

“Love from afar”
The winds whisper
“Love from afar”
The trees whimper
“Love from afar”
Our mouths murmur
The admiration is so great
Wanting to be the one
To wrap your arms around their waist
Soft kisses to the cheek
Bliss…
When being kissed on the lips

Day dreaming for the one day will
Come true
Waiting for that day when this happens to so few
You have that moment
For the rest of your life with that unique person
And whisper from such a lesson
“Love from afar”
