Love From Calvary Poem by Abednego Oghenechovwiere Omashone

Love From Calvary

I looked and I saw.
Behold! Beneath a stake,
A man grunting to death.
Not a transgressor of the law
But for His friends he did exchange
Life for death.
This compelling love; I found at Calvary.
The whole thing stunned me in its entirety;
Knowing my sins are all forgiven till eternity
So dear He’s been to me
For this freedom of His to me.
Jah! Help me in upholding
My allegiance to this
Unflinching love from Calvary.
Till the day is done
And all there is, is love,
Till the last great call is answered;
Not to other but His: must I answer:
I shall cherish that sight
I mean everything
The excelling love I saw at Calvary.

(‘Jah’ is a short form of ‘Jehovah’) .
