Love is a riddle
Like water drops dancing on the griddle
Hot bottom, cool top; mystery in the middle
Love is a riddle
If we could understand our fears just a little
But knowing too much makes our brain brittle
Love is a riddle
Where dreams sometimes play second fiddle
And desire pays homage to extreme non-committal
So I play this game
Of guessing and missing
My thumbs are to blame
I should be caressing and kissing
I fall down and I stand
I roll with the punches
Give in to a higher command
Because I don’t want heartaches in bunches
