Love Is Dangerous Poem by Grace Mukoro

Love Is Dangerous

Love, love is you there
You are like light and storm together
Wearing a mask yet you see
Yet you answer sometimes
Yet you vanish like extinct creatures
Love, are you there

You confuse me, acknowledge me, define me
But still somehow you always move back
Are you a fairytale or reality
Pinch me till I wake up from this dream
Or sit by me to I finally believe you exist
Love, are you there

Love you burn gently leaving scars
You whisper promises, then turn to the dark
I hold you but my hands come back with cuts.
Tell me, are you a cure or just another scar?

I hug you tight but feel knives in my heart
You laugh while I fall apart
Your touch is very gentle, yet it seems to burn my skin
How can love feel so holy but at the same time a sin?

I'd give up everything
Just to feel something,
But love gives me nothing
Not even a clue, sign, signal
Yet it takes away everything

Love Is Dangerous
