Love me not today.
How long will you stay?
Some were here yesterday
Saw you them on the way?
Take their way. Here I lay
For love, trust, care, I pray.
All these I’ve got in bale
They came, and me, waylaid.
Lighted their path in the night
But despised me in daylight
Bore their weight to reach the heights
But have treated me so light.
Loved, cared through cold nights
But my memories soon belied.
Tempt me not to love you today
You may not love me another day.
