LOVE RYTHMS BY DAYO DESINA PETERS

MY LOVE COMPARED
Like the opening
of a book – page by
page; chapter by
chapter is my love
for you. It comes
everyday – gradually
with a new strong phase...
KNOWING YOU
knowing you was enticing as a riddle
always being chivalrous and jocund
in the inanimate eye of a niddle
and myriad friends abound

the afflatus habiliment is innocuous
and there is no assiduity in negation
the proximity of a hidden gauze
will forever bring commutation.


PAIN OF LOVE
Love is glowing
in me like the twinkling
of the stars, the owls'
blinking eyes' the brightness
of it in the early dawn

love is painful
like the peeling
of a tucked scab
off a sore place -
the dangers of its pain
in its joyous sensation.
LOVE
Love as cord
that joins people together
in this wide world
may it join us together

love as a brittle child
that walks to and fro
with his mother's warning he abide
may it make us walk and grow.


THE FAIREST
Gather them – my love
all the gorgeous ladies
that dwells in this packed world
place them in my presence
and demand from me to choose one
then, you will be glad
to see i will choose
no one but you
for you are the fairest
of all dames.
LET MY LOVE COVER YOU
Let my love overwhelm you
like sinking in a river
let's float atop like leaves
floating and gloating in
the deep love of hatred and omnipresent
traveling dove of love.


TEARS IN MY MIND
My mind weeps for you
it toiled day and night
longing for your love to envelope me.
If you will be mine, my love,
i promise i will never desert you


YOUR NAME IS LOVE
Habibat, your name is love
i am but a withering plant
the riddles i cannot solve
for with you, i am radiant.
