Love Should Never Be Flaunted Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Love Should Never Be Flaunted

Once love is found
If it is truly shared
Dance like nobody is around
Keep you love close to your heart
Don't boldy brag
Or shout it about the town
When love is retured to you
and it's felt truly in the other's heart
Don't turn it into poems
Don't flaunt it as art
Because all these adornments
can only take away
If you find love you treat it in a special way
All your feelings...
You should not flaunt
lest you flaunt them away
or invite the thing you found to go astray
Give your heart to your lover
Because all your praise of love
will do little to keep it strong
and to your dismay
may cause the very one you love
to go the other way
Love is for lovers to share
not for others
there can be no other way
Save your praise of love for a rainy day
We only have so much love inside
and only to our lover should we confide
because all other talk of love
is for fear or pride
It's your love...you decide
But once I find love
I want it know
It will not be the subject of my poem
because all the love I have to give
will be put into the life I live
and only with the one I love
will I wish to share
all my love and my care
and the only time of love will I shout
is when I dream of love
and find I am without
And should I write to her a sweet love poem
it will be hers
and her's alone
Words anyway can only say so much
and all of love can be felt in a single touch
