Love Sonnet 39: 'Your Lips Are Shut, Betraying Not A Word'

Your lips are shut, betraying not a word,
What beckoned me were sparkles from your eyes,
This stranger thus encouraged did afford,
To come so near, and yet so soonest dies;
For thousand suns shone on your lovely face,
Such sight to see a galaxy away,
That when you ventured closer to my space,
I have to look through shades of darkest gray;
Just how such dream did flourish as it might,
When wrought in ciphers, and of sheer disguise,
A mystery to mind of no insight,
And often left to fate of sad demise;
....By cowards who died many times before,
....Till sure enough of knocking at your door.
