Love That Was Never There Poem by Ahtesham Sham

Love That Was Never There

You had never talked to me
other than in dreams
But still I heard it all
-that was in your heart
Or maybe it was nothing
Only I wished it to be

I heard your eyes
Speaking to me
They asked me some questions
And I answered them
But they were never mine as
They always blink away as I stare

This conversation of ours
That never happened
-is so beautiful to recall
I want us to hold this conversation
Forever and ever and ever
Till we part

I know,
Our fates are not fortunate enough
To make us meet
Even for once

So, we will just remain the same
Talking with our eyes all day
In a most useless hope
That destiny will get us together

Reality is so subjective
It is what we say it is
Why shouldn't we share an illusion
And that illusion will become reality
We will be so happy in a reality
Made by us.....for us
