Why Do We Enjoy Life? Poem by Ahtesham Sham

Why Do We Enjoy Life?

Life; a mere gift of god
God; which no one has seen
Sight; a deceit of mind
Mind; a manifestation of man
Man; a captive in hands of Life

Why do we enjoy life?
A tragic episode-
of a comic series
We laugh about it
We cry in it

Why do we enjoy life?
A pile of pain
A time of suffering
Which we could easily end
Why won't we end it then?

Why do we enjoy life?
Nothing is here!
Other than misery and disgust
Just like nothing is in sky
Only rocks and burning stars

There is no other way
But to just enjoy life
And if you can't - just pretend
Just pretend till you die
And escape this ruthless place
Which they all call life
