Love You, My Darling Poem by Natasa To

Love You, My Darling

Love you, my darling —

like dawn loves the quiet sky,

like waves that reach for shore

again and again,

never tired of trying.

Love you, my darling —

in the hush between heartbeats,

in the warmth of intertwined hands,

in the way your laughter

turns ordinary air into music.

If the stars forgot to shine,

I would gather their silver

and weave it into your name.

If the night grew cold,

I would wrap you in every whispered promise

my soul has ever made.

Love you —

not only in the bright hours

when the world feels kind,

but in the trembling dark,

where love glows strongest.

My darling,

you are the soft place

where my wandering ends,

the quiet answer

to every question I never knew I asked.

And if forever had a voice,

it would sound like this —

steady, certain,

breathing your name

with mine.
