Loved Ones And Leaving Poem by Jai Foesbane Karkhanis

Loved Ones And Leaving

Rating: 5.0

Of loved ones and leaving

of light spirits that forward soar

of nighthounds and their deadly roar

of fifes and pipes soothing

An ugly thing, though ugliest never

bloody miles and marches forever

popping lights, o'er the main

sweat, tears laughter and pain

Watery rum and roasting hides

fire filled sundered sides

immortal never, yet forever being

of dear loved ones and leaving

Frozen nights and frozen steal

latent fear driving through

warming bosoms with bitter brew

drunken laughter and impoverished deal

No love lost, for god or king

all their love, for the colours that bring

pride and honour, fellowship flowing

for loved ones, and for leaving

Piteous scream, fearful shout

blazing rounds on the redoubt

galloping cuts havoc aboard

tight squares, entropic discord

Hearts filled with foolish hope

pain immune to its own fire

bridges broken upon straights dire

failing hands that upwards grope

Fear from above, strength from within

wavering mind, the only sin

child's weeping, lover's sighing

of loved ones and leaving

But forward ho, ever stronger

friendly miles, growing longer

brotherhood and friendship weaving

of loved ones and leaving
