Lovers In Space Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Lovers In Space

Can I tell you something
the reason why I sing
for days I’ve been so high
too happy I think I can fly

I’ve been drifting off to space
I’m always in a daze
Thoughts of you are pleasing
I zoom to a perfect dream

But then I wake up
hesitance fills my gut
wait a second, hold on
I’m not giving this up

Let’s slow down the time
of cries, angst and whine
close our eyes take my hand
we don’t need this silly land

No need to speak a word
it’s just us no-one else is heard
let’s let our hearts race
we’re just lovers in space

Let’s rock-a-by this wonderful ride
there’s no need to hide
just close your eyes
you’re my lover in space
