Lovers Meet Poem by Mary Krekamoo

Lovers Meet

Is like a chisel meets a sculptor,
Curving a piece of wood into a world to discover
Hand making artifacts for others to admire
Each cut with a polish of hope
The finished art a marvel before the eyes
Its value known before laid bare to the world

When lovers meet
Just as a pen meets an author,
A pencil meets a rubber
Punchlines meets a rapper,
A bee with a flower nectar,
Like words meet poetry
A musician and his strings
Each flows flawlessly, effortlessly,
Finding perfect rest in others arms,
Words rhyme when a poet slams,
Cords find tune in musician's arms,
All held in glaze of lovers eyes.

When lovers see,
The first of what could be,
And their eyes meet,
An iris of vision well lit
A world entwined begin,
Like a spiral staircase
Of unending vastness into deep fullness
When lovers meet
It's a sync of heartbeats,
Rhythms yet created, reverberating in soul dances,
Legs weaken at the knees,
Lips tremble before the tender touch
Hands reach to explore beneath
That which is known but unknown,
Already felt but shivers the soul
Mind digs deep searching for meaning,
Climbs high to mine the treasures
Till an avalanche, explosion of feelings
To satisfy the curious lovers need.

When lovers meet
All worlds stop spinning,
Only their lives seem to have a meaning
Flaws not so demeaning
Souls reaching for a different awakening.
When lovers meet.
