Loving Jen Poem by Aaron Sumner

Loving Jen

Loving Jen. - draft 1

Whilst the demons that curse her ravage her head,
in ignorance and judgement i dared to tread.
My loved one lays in agony, torment and dread,
as in the serenity of slumber I share her bed.

My entrapment is different and created from naivity,
with forced isolation, I created my own captivity.
In self indulgence and desperate self pity i escape,
if only i had known the pains others must drape.

In the deepest darkest prison she was thrust,
we vainly reach to each other through insatiable lust.
An innocent, beautiful and tortured soul,
to free this angel my desperate impossible goal.

With desperate longing we reach to each other's cage,
and desperate seeking fingers we hope to engage.
In time each others bars we will pray we can weaken,
till then we must content to be the others beacon.

When each our wardens we eventually evade,
our debt to the future will be overly paid.
Our life will be rewarded with ubundant bliss,
like the heaven I feel in her gentlest kiss.
